When thinking about designing a Kyrie, Sneaker Room owner Suraj Kaufman wanted to do something that was true to both his and Kyrie’s journey. Both New Jersey natives have endured the loss of their mothers and he wanted to create something special to honor their memory. Sneaker Room’s creative director, Jeff Rose, came up with the idea to change the logo on the tongue to display the word “MOM” in the same logo style font. Underneath the strap, you’ll find “In honor of ____” that allows you to fill in the name of your loved one. You’ll find other details such as Suraj’s mother’s name Ellen on the left shoe, and Elizabeth on the right shoe for Kyrie’s mother. The left shoe is covered in hearts, while the right shoe has roses.
